Significance for the Industry
The film’s success marks a notable moment for Indian cinema. A female-led superhero film rooted in folklore is not a conventional blockbuster choice. Its performance demonstrates strong audience demand for fresh narratives and female protagonists in major roles.
“This is the first female-led South Indian film to cross the £8.43 million (₹100 crore) mark,” the report notes, highlighting its importance in opening opportunities for new storytelling and for actresses to lead high-budget projects. With a production budget of approximately £2.53 million (₹30 crore), the film has generated a substantial return on investment.
