Chutney Mary, a distinguished Indian restaurant in London was recently honoured with the prestigious AA Hospitality Awards’ Restaurant of the Year award.
According to reports, this celebrated restaurant, is a favourite of prime minister Rishi Sunak, and was founded in 1990 by sisters Camellia and Namita Punjabi along with Namita’s husband Ranjit.
Originally located in Chelsea, London, Chutney Mary found its new home near the iconic Ritz Hotel on St. James’ Street in 2015.
Chutney Mary received the accolade due to its innovative approach and the richness of Indian regional cuisines it offers, The Times of India reported.
The restaurant is renowned for its culinary delights such as kathal biryani, lamb kormas, hot toddy, chicken nihari soup, tandoori avocado, lamb curry with paya, and seabass amritsari.
Moreover, it provides a unique dining experience, blending modern decor, soothing colour palettes, and even a private dining area.
The owners of Chutney Mary who also oversee various Indian eateries in the UK, such as the Michelin-starred Veeraswamy and Amaya expressed their pride in receiving this award and in an official statement, highlighted the collective efforts of their entire team.
