British author and screenwriter Nikesh Shukla, who is best known for editing the essay compilation The Good Immigrant, on Wednesday took to Twitter to drop a photo from a store where he is seen holding his four-issue miniseries Spider-Man: India, which debuted on June 1, 2023— a day before Pavitr Prabhakar, one of the most iconic alternate Spider-heroes in Marvel, and his animated friends swung into action in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on June 2.

He wrote in the caption: I wrote a Spider-Man.

The four-issue miniseries written by Shukla features art from Abhishek Masluni and covers from Smuiit Kumar.

The miniseries picks up after the conclusion of ‘End of Spider-Verse,’ and follows Earth-50101’s Spider-Man (Prabhakar) as he returns to his hometown of Mumbai.

For those not in the know, Pavitr was created by writer/artist Jeevan J. Kang, with co-writers Sharad Devarajan and Suresh Seetharaman, and first appeared in 2005’s ‘Spider-Man: India’ miniseries.

He has since appeared in various ‘Spider-Verse’ crossovers, including the 2015-2016 series ‘Web Warriors.’

Following is the official preview blurb for the new issue:

“Just in time for his big role on the silver screen, Spider-Man: India returns for his first miniseries in almost twenty years! Pavitr Prabhakar is back, fresh from The End of the Spider-Verse in his own universe’s Mumbai. But things aren’t exactly simple. There’s a science professor promising results, activating people’s “lizard brain” along with a ruthless businessman who may be more than he seems… Don’t miss the break-out Spider-Character of 2023!”
