Adding fuel to the fire of the drug menace in Bollywood, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has claimed that drugs are “all around” in the Hindi film industry. He accused top Bollywood actors of consuming drugs, particularly taking the names of superstar Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aaryan Khan who served a month in jail as the Narcotics Control Bureau detained him aboard a cruise ship as a suspect during a raid.
A few video clips of Baba Ramdev’s statements have gone viral on social media where the yoga guru is seen naming the biggest of Bollywood stars in his speech while launching a movement against drugs. He was speaking at the Aryaveer and Veerangana conference in Moradabad on Sunday, when he said, “Salman Khan takes drugs. I do not know about Aamir Khan. Shah Rukh Khan’s child was caught taking drugs. All these people whom people call film stars… As far as actresses are concerned, God alone knows about them.”
He went on to add, “There are drugs all around the film industry, there are drugs in politics too. Liquor is distributed during elections. We should take a resolution that India must be free from every drug addiction. For this, we will launch a movement.”
A large number of high-profile Bollywood celebrities, including Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Arjun Rampal, and Rhea Chakraborty, were questioned for allegations of rampant use of drugs in 2020, weeks after the untimely death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is busy with his forthcoming projects, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tiger 3. The actor recently revealed that his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan will now release on Eid 2022 instead of 30th December 2022. He has also moved Tiger 3 to Diwali 2023.
