ATHLETES taking part in the upcoming Commonwealth Games in India paid a visit to a Hindu temple celebrating its 15th anniversary.
Team England, who will represent the nation in Delhi this October, were welcomed by volunteers at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, north west London, for its Community Open Day last Saturday (11).
The “One World – One Community” event featured events including blood donation awareness, free health screening and guided interactive exhibits. Olympic and Commonwealth 400m gold medallist Christine Ohuruogu said: “This temple has got to be the most beautiful building I have ever seen.”
