How would you like to find out what life is really like in the RAF? This could be your chance to experience it first-hand.

 

The Asian Media and Marketing Group (AMG), publishers of Garavi Gujarat and Eastern Eye, is offering 10 readers aged 14-and-a-half to 17 years* the chance to spend two days with the Royal Air Force at RAF College Cranwell, home of the prestigious RAF Officer Training College.

 

All you have to do for a chance to be drawn as a winner is answer these questions correctly (there may be some useful clues on the RAF website):

 

1 List five aircraft currently used by the Royal Air Force (RAF)?

 

2 When was the RAF formed?

 

3 What is the name of the RAF's ground fighting force?

 

Terms and Conditions:

 

Answers are to be submitted via email or postcard to arrive no later than April 19, 2013. Winners aged 14-and-a-half to 17 years* will be notified by the first week in May 2013 and a full list of winners will also be available from this date.

 

The competition is open to young men and women aged 14-and-a-half to 17 years*.

 

In the event of a tie, the judges’ decision is final.

 

*Aged over 14 years 6 months and under 18 yrs on the closing date April 26, 2013.

 

Ten winners will spend two days with the RAF at RAF C Cranwell in Lincolnshire, including food, activities and accommodation.

 

The visit programme will consist of a variety of events including visiting squadrons at RAF C Cranwell and undergoing team building activities such as Low Ropes or High Ropes.

1. This competition is open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man aged 14 and a half and over.

 

2. Details of how to enter form part of the terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

 

3. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries or entries sent through agencies and third parties will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of dispatch will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

 

4. The winners will be drawn at random from all the correct entries received by the closing date. The winners' names and counties can be obtained by sending a sae to AMG Readers Quiz, PO Box 1000, Adastral Hall, RAF College Cranwell, Sleaford, Lincolnshire, NG34 8HB between June 24-July 5, 2013.

 

5. All entries must be received by 1700hrs, April 19, 2013.

 

6. The winners will be notified within 14 days of the closing date of the prize draw. Should the promoter be unable to contact a winner or should a winner be unable to accept the prize, the promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner, drawn in accordance with these terms and conditions.

 

7. The prizes as described are available on the date of publications.

 

8. Ten winners will each win two days with the Royal Air Force at RAF C Cranwell in Lincolnshire; food and accommodation will be provided.

 

9. The prizes are food and accommodation only and do not include travel between the winner's home and RAF Cranwell, personal expenditure or incidental costs. It is the responsibility of the prize winner to ensure that they have a valid form of identification.

 

10. The prizes are subject to availability, non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives.

 

11. Events may occur that render the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the promoter and the promoter may, at its absolute discretion, vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the promoter as a result thereof.

 

12. AMG is responsible for the first part of the promotion which is the publication of the competition draw. All other facilities connected with the provision of the prize are the responsibility of the Royal Air Force.
