Several prominent personalities descended on Washington on Thursday as US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden hosted a state dinner in honour of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House.
“PM Narendra Modi arrives at the White House for a State dinner hosted by POTUS Joe Biden & FLOTUS Dr Biden. A delightful evening of cultural exchange, strengthening bonds, and celebrating the enduring friendship between India and US awaits,” Arindam Bagchi, Official Spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs (India), said in a tweet.
More than 380 guests were invited to the state dinner. The guest list included government officials, business leaders, star athletes, a renowned violinist, a Hollywood director, the son of a civil rights icon, fashion designers, and prominent Indian Americans.
Award-Winning storyteller and podcaster Jay Shetty and filmmaker and actor M. Night Shyamalan were among the notable guests who joined PM Modi, Joe Biden, and Jill Biden at the state dinner. Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Karishma Swali also took part.
Talking about the menu, several media outlets report that Lemon-Dill Sauce, Crisp Millet Cake, Squash, Marinated Millet and Grilled Kernel Salad, Watermelon, Tangy Avocado Sauce, Stuffed Mushrooms, Creamy Saffron-Infused Risotto, and Rose and Cardamom-Infused Strawberry Shortcakes were served to the guests at the grand dinner.
