The Leuva Patidar Samaj of USA (LPS of USA) will be hosting its National Convention & Trade Show at the Georgia International Convention Center, (GICC) Atlanta, GA. According to the LPS of USA Convention Chair and current First Vice President Deepak (Dean) Patel of Savannah, GA the event will be exciting, enlightening and entertaining. It will be dedicated to preserve leuva heritage and culture. A major characteristic of our members is to preserve family values and heritage. This is the primary reason that our conventions attract families from all over the United States. Atlanta has always attracted a large number of attendees due to the city’s reputation as a tourist destination, the central location of the city and because several major airlines operates through it.The members of our association migrated to the United States in the early 1940s. Since then, we have grown to over 40,000 families of Leuva Patidar throughout the country. With hard work, a focus on family values and a deep belief in our roots, our community now includes hotel/motel owners, professionals in various fields, business owners and overall ambitious people that strive on a daily basis to do better for themselves and for our culture. The focus and theme of this convention, is "Celebrating our heritage and embracing our future." Deepak says “The youth play a very important role in our Samaj and therefore, it is essential that we preserve our heritage and cultural values through our youth.” The attendees will be of all age groups, with a large concentration of Leuva youth. This gathering is a special two and a half day event for all to come learn, experience, and network with other Leuva members from around the country.
Our goal is to promote the Leuva heritage and cultural values to the youth in the community. We need to energize the already existing efforts and inspire the youth to attain a better way of life through service, discipline, and dedication. Deepak feels that it is important to utilize the youth energy for social & economic development and for spiritual enlightment. Deepak’s goals are geared towards encouraging more youth participation in Samaj activities.
The convention agenda includes some prominent speakers who will be there to empower and motivate the attendees of all age groups. The convention will have great educational seminars that will be both informative and interactive. Furthermore, there will a ” Bridging the Generation Gap” panel discussion with some strong panelists that are knowledgeable on current issues affecting our community and our youth. These seminars will provide a great opportunity to network and learn about strengthening and
preserving our culture. Entertainment for the 1st and 2nd night will be a cultural variety program performed by some of our great fellow LPS of USA members followed by musical melodies. The 3rd night will be the Gala night and there will be entertainment by a special Bollywood group.
Most importantly, the success of this convention will not be possible without the hard work of dedicated locals from the surrounding area of Atlanta, Georgia and association’s board members.
