For the first time ever, four legends of Bollywood come together for a musical extravaganza – Suron Ki Mehfil on the same stage.
Suron ki Mehfil, a show conceptualized and curated by Events To Enjoy, a company that
has also has given the London audience an opportunity to listen live to Ghulam Ali,
Suresh Wadkar in the past.
The home to the English National Opera – the London Coliseum played host to the
divine melody of Padmashree Kavita Krishnamurti, Dr Suresh Wadkar, Shailendra Singh
and Padmashree Anup Jalota.
Their mesmerizing voices, which ruled the Indian music industry from the 70’s to the
new millennium, was accompanied by a 20-piece live orchestra along with the Grand
Philharmonic Orchestra, and very talented musicians from India.
This event delved into the golden era of film music with hits like Main Shayar Toh Nahi by Shailendra Singh, to the romantic Tumse Milke from Parinda by Sudesh Wadkar and the peppy Hawa Hawai by Kavita Krishnamurti on the 29th of October. They also surprised the audience with a blast from the past, of melodies that took us into a magical world.
Padmashree Kavita Krishnamurti who came to the UK for a concert after 8 long
years expressed her excitement on the show and said: ‘I am very much looking forward
to performing with my colleagues from the industry. It is very rare that one gets an
opportunity such as this. Over the years, through my performances, in London, I find the
London audience very discerning and great knowledge of both classical and Bollywood
music. Once again, I am very much looking forward to sharing in a mix of my songs with
them’
Dr Suresh Wadkar who had a sellout show in London two years back returning for this
unique event says: ‘London audience is always very special to me, with all the love they
have given me over the years. I hope to continue sharing the love with them all through
my music ’
Bringing the four artists together on stage for the first time is Events to Enjoy. The event
is co-presented by Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Mix and co-sponsored by
State Bank of India UK.
