CAMILLA, wife of Prince Charles arrived at Soukya, a rejuvenation therapy centre, located in Whitefield near Bangalore yesterday morning.
The Duchess of Cornwall’s visit boosted the status of Bangalore as a medical tourism destination. Soukya, the luxury spa draws a number of well-known personalities through out the world for its practice of integrated medicine.
Accompanied by some friends and family members, the Princess arrived here by a British Airways flight at 4.30 a.m., sources said. She turned up at the spa around 6 a.m.
The Duchess will stay in the spa resort at least for a week for a holistic therapy.
Prince Charles himself is a strong advocate of a holistic way of life, it is learnt.
The 63-year-old Duchess will be introduced to sessions on yoga, meditation, ayurveda and other alternative forms of therapy.
The Scotland Yard police have been stationed in the spa to look after her security during her stay here.
