NOTED designer Anita Dongre will mentor six young designers under its Gen Next programme, who will present their creations at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2014.
The programme is Lakme Fashion Week's endeavour to promote and nurture young fashion talent.
“Through Gen Next, LFW has made a significant contribution towards shaping the future of the Indian fashion industry. I am looking forward to mentoring for the second time this year the young designers,” Anita Dongre LFW Gen Next Mentor said in a statement in Mumbai.
The Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive will be held from August 20- 24.
Six designers have been selected by the LFW Advisory board for the programme.
Among the designers, Delhi based Anuj Bhutani will present his collection on winter dressing, while Dhruv Kapoor will highlight the raw and bold traits of women through his collection.
Mumbai based designer Arunima Majhi will showcase her work on wearable aesthetics for women and Kristy De Cunha is set to show her 'La Casa Azul' (the blue house) collection, which is a tribute to Frida Kahlo (a Mexican painter).
Other designer Neha Agarwal will present a collection depicting dark illusions of a female's alter-ego, while Surbhi Shekhar's collection is inspired by Fever Ray, the lead vocalist of Swedish music duo 'The Knife'.
The Gen Next programme has earlier promoted designers like Swapnil Shinde, Rahul Mishra, Masaba Gupta, Archana Rao, Aneeth Arora.
