Even as top Hollywood actors, directors among others are eagerly awaiting the most coveted award function of the year, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced honours for 10 scientific and technical achievements. One of the winners is an Indian American actor, producer, Rahul Thakkar. He has though been honoured for his contribution in design. These awards are to be presented on February 13.
Rahul Thakkar is to be honoured jointly with Richard Chuang, Andrew Pilgrim, stewart Birnam and Mark Kirk. They have collectively improved review workflows and advanced playback features, of the DreamWorks Animation Media Review System, thus winning the technical achievement award for their contribution to cinema through groundbreaking design.
The Academy Awards are to be announced on February 28, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present 10 scientific and technical achievements during its annual Scientific and Technical Awards Presentation on February 13.
