A 50-year-old woman was left shaken after a callous thief grabbed her around the neck from behind, pulled her to the ground and robbed her in a “nasty” attack.
Before rifling through her handbag, the attacker snatched her phone and ran off. The assault took place in broad daylight in Wake Green Road, Moseley, Birmingham, on June 10 at around 2.25pm.
Police are now appealing for help to trace the thief who is described as Asian, aged between 30 to 40-years-old, slim with straight black hair, and stubble. He was wearing jeans and a black jacket with either a hood or a hat.
DC Michelle Beasley from Stechford CID said: "This was a nasty attack on a woman on her own in broad daylight. Police know there were numerous cars driving past at the time who may have seen what happened and I would appeal for anyone who saw this or who has information to call us on 101."
