A serving prisoner has received an another three year sentence for stabbing a fellow prisoner with a homemade blade.
Musib Shah, 24, of HMP Brixton has been sentenced to three years' imprisonment at Inner London Crown Court on Friday for grievous bodily harm.
The court heard that on Saturday, October 4 2014 Shah attacked a fellow inmate, aged 26, inside HMP Brixton with a homemade blade. The victim suffered a cut to the face which required hospital treatment.
Officers spoke to the injured man but he did not wish to assist with the investigation. However, despite they gathered enough evidence to proceed with a prosecution.
On Monday, 15 December 2014 Shah was charged with Grevious Bodily Harm (GBH) with intent.
DC Nathan Burrows, who led the investigation, said: "This was a violent incident in which the victim suffered a serious injury.
"This sentence sends a very clear message to those who carry weapons and are intent on using them. We will not tolerate violence and will do everything to secure a prosecution and to ensure that justice is done."
