INDIAN police say they have arrested a 28-year-old man wanted in connection with two sex attacks in Britain.
Former nightclub bouncer Raminder Singh was arrested in New Delhi on Sunday (5) after three years on the run, police joint commissioner Ravindra Yadav said in a statement late Monday.
The arrest followed a tip-off that he was arranging a false passport to flee the country.
"On this information, a trap was laid and Raminder Singh was apprehended from Alipur (near) Delhi. He has been arrested and being produced in court," Yadav said.
Singh, who left Britain in July 2012, is accused of raping a 23-year-old woman in an Edinburgh hostel.
He is also wanted for the attempted murder and sexual assault of a 27-year-old.
Interpol placed Singh on its list of "Most Wanted" suspects on the day he disappeared and Britain had asked India to extradite him.
Singh had gone to Scotland in 2009 on a student visa to study for a diploma in hospitality.
