ACTOR Shahid Kapoor, who is currently sporting a beard and cropped hair for Vishal Bharadwaj’s film Haider, says he is simply following his director’s vision.
The movie which also stars Tabu, Shraddha Kapur and Kay Kay Menon is the filmmaker’s interpretation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet set against the backdrop of militancy in Kashmir.
Director Bhardwaj and Shahid have previously worked together in the cult hit Kaminey.
“It is commendable, the dedication with which Shahid bit into his role and its every aspect. And he is doing complete justice to Haider,” Bhardwaj said.
The film is being currently shot in Kashmir and will be screened in theatres on September 12.
“I believe in the script and have completely surrendered to Vishal sir’s vision of my character and my look,” Shahid said.
On the personal front, the single actor says he is not interested in dating actresses.
Shahid said he had learnt his lesson about not dating actresses on a recent episode of celebrity chat show Koffee with Karan.
When asked by host Karan Johar whom he would like to date, Shahid said, “Not an actress…. I am so done with that. I am a little scared of dating an actress for sure.”
Karan asked the actor what he had learnt from dating actresses.
“Do not date them,” Shahid replied.
Shahid was in a steady relationship with actress Kareena Kapoor in the past before they split. Later, he was reportedly dating actresses Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra. His name was also linked with actresses Nargis Fakhri, Bipasha Basu, Anushka Sharma and Huma Qureshi.
