An interfaith gathering to mark Remembrance Sunday (November 15) and Shraad was held at the Hampton Court Palace by the Sarvoday Hindu Association, based in Kingston upon Thames.
 
Renowned vocal maestro Paras Borkhatria, accompanied by Mohammed Kassam and Bhavesh Parmar (on the tabla), performed on the occasion.
 
During Shraad, Hindu families remember their dearest departed loved ones, as well as all their ancestors.
 
Among those who attended were the Queen’s representative, Deputy Lieutenant Colonel Godfrey Godbold OBE TD DL, accompanied by the mayor of Kingston Upon Thames, Councillor Ian Macdonald; Edward Davey, MP for Kingston Mosque, Reverend Bruce Stewart of the United Reform Church New Malden, Anthony Stewart representing the other Christian communities, Charanjit Singh Makan of Kingston Gurudwara, Fleur Standring and Barbara Bell of Liberal Jewish Synagogue and Nitinbhai Shah of the Sarvoday Hindu Association.
