With the 13th edition of the IPL underway in the UAE, a question for many is who will be taking home the purple cap for taking the most wickets throughout the season? The UAE tracks are known to support spinners and can play quite slowly, so it will be interesting to see how some of the better bowlers can adapt their game for the testing conditions. To make the most out of the start of the IPL season too, be sure to check out the betting odds as the IPL progresses at sites listed on asiabet.org and see if you can predict who’ll take it. This is a market that is set to prove very popular for Indian bettors, in one of the most followed competitions of the year.

Deepak Chahar – Narrowly missing out on taking the purple cap last year with 22 wickets, just four behind his Chennai Super Kings teammate Imran Tahir who took it last year. He is fiercely determined for a fresh season and being so close to the win last year, Chahar may feel as if he has something to prove as he chases down the coveted title.

Pat Cummins – Picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders with a hefty price tag of 15.5 crore, the fast bowling Australian has some pressure to perform well. As a very consistent performer however, his speed and accuracy could prove to be a huge strength heading into the UAE’s tricky tracks, with many fans suggesting Cummins to be one of the bowlers to look out for this season he may become a shoe-in to take the cap.

Rashid Khan – A backbone of the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s attack force for a number of years – taking 17 wickets in 15 games last year, there is certainly room for the player to improve. With suggestions that the tougher UAE tracks could benefit his bowling style he could certainly be in the running.

Kagiso Rabada – Last year’s runner up, the Delhi Capitals’ fast bowler will certainly be one to look out for. With the ability to quickly adapt to the new conditions and solid consistency, he will certainly be another player to keep an eye on. Another performance like last year could see Delhi going on to win the title for the first time, which may provide some added pressure.

With the IPL set to conclude on November 10th, there’s plenty of time for these players to start racking up the wickets and to set themselves apart. Just two games in and Deepak Chahar has already taken three himself but is currently sitting sixth in the standings as two others in the Chennai Super Kings have taken four a piece, and a few others have taken 3 in their first game. As the players settle into the season, the back half could provide benefit for many too, as the temperature starts to cool following the long, hot summer that has just been experienced. Whether or not this will play more into certain players hands than others is yet to be seen, but many will benefit from the cooling temperatures.
