The Indian American Voter Atlas has launched ahead of the 2026 US midterm elections, positioning itself as a centralized civic data platform tracking the political and economic footprint of more than 5.2 million Indian Americans.

Created by Indian-origin communications strategist and Capitol Hill veteran Anang Mittal, the Indian American Voter Atlas is described as a nonpartisan, open civic data platform built specifically for the Indian American community. The platform went live on February 23 and is available at voteratlas.io.

According to a 2026 Carnegie survey cited at launch, over 5.2 million people of Indian origin live in the United States. The Indian American Voter Atlas compiles demographic, electoral, and economic data to show how the community intersects with competitive congressional districts ahead of the 2026 elections.

Mittal described the initiative as “the first nonpartisan, open civic data platform built specifically for and about the Indian American community.”

In a blog post, he wrote:
“We’re the highest-income ethnic group in the United States, and we’re concentrated in some of the most competitive congressional districts in the country,”

He added:
“In 2024, Indian Americans had one of the most dramatic partisan shifts of any demographic group in American politics.”

What the Indian American Voter Atlas includes

The Indian American Voter Atlas features an interactive national map and eight data layers. Sections include House Districts, Senate 2026, 2024 Election, Economic Presence, Community Safety, Discourse Monitor, and Methodology.

The House Districts section connects Indian American population data with current congressional representation, including competitiveness ratings and proprietary index scores.

The 2024 Election page describes the community as “in political motion.” One example cited shows Indian American men under 40 shifting from supporting Joe Biden by 47 points in 2020 to favoring Trump by 4 points in 2024.

Immigration and community safety focus in the Indian American Voter Atlas

The Immigration Pipeline section tracks PERM labor certification filings and lists wage data from employers such as HCL America, Intel, and Cisco.

Mittal described the H-1B visa backlog as:
“the single most politically consequential issue for a large segment of our community,”
The Community Safety Tracker combines FBI data with community-reported incidents to monitor anti-Indian, anti-Hindu, and anti-Sikh hate crimes.

As the 2026 midterms approach, the Indian American Voter Atlas aims to provide structured civic data on one of the fastest-growing immigrant-origin communities in the United States.
