The search for a missing Birmingham man has been called off after his body was discovered in a van on a pub car park.

Officers from West Mercia Police were called to the White Swan on Alcester Road, Wythall, just after 9am yesterday after a member of the public made the grim discovery.

The deceased has been identified as Harbans Agimal from Kings Heath, who had not been seen since he left his home in the early hours of last Thursday.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and his family have been informed.

Detective Sergeant Matt Stone, leading the search for Mr Agimal, said: “We would like to thank everyone who assisted in spreading the appeal for help to find Mr Agimal.

“Our sympathies are now with his family at this tragic time.”
Police had earlier appealed to the public for sightings of either the 54-year-old or his van following his disappearance.

He had posted his wallet through the letter box of his Norton View home before vanishing.
