TWO MAJOR festivals will be celebrated this weekend at the Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna Temple in Watford.
Thousands of Hindus are expected to turn out for the traditional spring festival of Holi on Saturday (March 19).
Devotees will also on Sunday (March 20) mark Gaura Purnima, which celebrates the birth of Lord Chaitanya, who Hare Krishna followers believe to be an incarnation of Lord Krishna.
Radha Mohan Das, spokesperson for the temple, said: “We are expecting 4,000-plus people. There will be throwing of colour, a bonfire and free vegetarian food. It’s going to be a combination of spectacular colour and fun.”
Hare Krishna temples around the world will be celebrating both festivals and there are other Holi celebrations around the country.
