ACTOR Manoj Bajpai is a busy man these days. After the success of Gangs of Wasseypur and Special 26, the versatile actor has two major films lined up this year.
The 43-year-old’s Shootout At Wadala is ready for release while shooting for Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha is currently in progress.
“When I got recognition for Satya, I used to do one film a year. There were not many new ideas and new directors.
“I kept fighting my battle in a world of commercialism and formula films. It was a long battle, but things are changing now. Many great actors are getting good work now,” Bajpai said on the sidelines of Times of India Film Awards, where he is nominated in the Best Actor Category.
The actor is not worried about winning or losing the award and believes such functions should be enjoyed.
“Award shows are a big celebration of the fraternity. It is a difficult task to choose a winner. Such functions should be enjoyed.”
On being a method actor, Bajpai said, “I believe in becoming the character. It is easy to get under the skin of a character, but difficult to come out.
“This is why actors are lonely and moody because you are getting into so many skins that you lose your personality,” he said.
