A LEADING independent wholesaler has expanded its operations by acquiring a depot, its eighth,  in Leicester.
 
Dhamecha Cash and Carry was founded in 1976 by three brothers KR, SR and JR Dhamecha, when they opened a 10,000 sq ft Cash & Carry in Wembley, north London. 
 
Their new premises is a former distribution centre which will be developed into a 80,000 sq ft warehouse along with a car parking area for customers
 
CEO Pradip Dhamecha said: “We are very excited about the prospect of bringing our strategy of great prices, excellent value and outstanding customer service to a whole new audience in Leicestershire and the surrounding region.
 
“We have built our business around the M25 and are proud to have opened seven depots servicing retail customers in London.”
 
The new site is expected to launch towards the end of 2015, in time for the busy Christmas trading period.
 
The group also has depots in Barking, Enfield, Croydon, Watford, Hayes and Lewisham in 2012.
 
In 2011 Dhamecha celebrated its 35th anniversary.
