FASHION designer Rohit Bal, who has designed clothes for Pamela Anderson and Naomi Campbell, is recuperating in hospital in New Delhi after undergoing emergency surgery following a heart attack.

Bal, often described by the Indian media as the “bad boy of fashion”, underwent angioplasty at a Gurgaon hospital on Tuesday (February 23).

“He is better now. He will be kept under observation for a couple more days before doctors decide when he can leave (hospital),” a spokesman for the designer told reporters.

Bal, who is known for his flamboyant designs, has held shows in New York, London and Paris and has been described by Time magazine as “India’s Master of fabric and fantasy”.
