INDIA’S mathematics genius Srinivasa Ramanujan will be the subject of a new film to be directed by Roger Spottiswoode, best known for his James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies.
Spottiswoode, who is part of the international competition jury at the ongoing Mumbai Film Festival, said the film is not a biography of Ramanujam who died at the young age of 32. Instead, it will deal with his friendship with GH Hardy, the man who first spotted Ramanujan’s talent in Cambridge.
South Indian actor Siddharth, who starred in the hit film, Rang De Basanti, will play the lead role.
