SS Rajamouli’s ‘ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion ‘, starring Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in the leads has grossed Rs 1000 crore at the worldwide box-office within just ten days of its release, according to a report in BoxofficeIndia.com.
While this is a record in itself, the multilingual film is all set to release in Japan and China, which will take its overall collections through the roof. The box-office figures for the Rajamouli film now stands at Rs 1,047 crore after ten days. The Hindi version of the film has collected as much as Rs 508 crore in ten days. Fans of the hit franchise have been looking forward to another sequel of the film, however, the ace-director made it very clear through his tweet that there won’t be any more films. “And with this last leg of promotion in London, my job with Baahubali film series is completely over. A big hug and thanks to everyone,” he said.
The second instalment sees Prabhas, who portrayed the character of Amarendra Baahubali, essay the role of his son Mahendra Baahubali. While Rana Daggubati reprised his role as Bhallaladeva, Anushka Shetty as Devasena, Ramya Krishnan as Rajmata Sivagami, Tamannaah as Avanthika and Sathyaraj as Kattappa, the film is a magnum opus that promises gravity defying action and ancient war scene brought to life by VFX. ‘Baahubali 2’ enjoyed a grand release in about 9000 screens worldwide. The film was scheduled to release in 2016, however, the makers moved the dates and released the film in 2017. Not just that, reports stated that the film’s leading man Prabhas garnered as many as 6000 proposals while shooting for the films.
