Dr. Ramesh Babu Peramsetty, a 63-year-old physician and founder of the Crimson Care network, was shot and killed in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on August 23. Dr. Peramsetty, originally from Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India, managed several hospitals across the United States.
The Crimson Care team expressed their condolences on Facebook, assuring the public that their clinics would continue to operate during this period. “We kindly request that you continue to keep the Peramsetty family and our team at Crimson Care Network in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this challenging time,” the statement read.
Dr. Peramsetty had 38 years of experience in emergency medicine and family medicine, having graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin and Sri Venkateswara Medical College. He was recognized for his contributions to healthcare, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was honored with a street named after him in Tuscaloosa. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters, all residing in the U.S.
