A woman has admitted to murdering her sister for flirting with her boyfriend in Orlando, Florida.
Fatiha Marzan, 21, was arrested last month for murdering her 20-year-old sister, Sayma Marzan, with a knife she allegedly bought on Amazon.
According to police, she hid the weapon in a closet in the bedroom she shared with Sayma. The culprit waited until her family members went to bed at their home in Southern Charm Drive and stabbed her sister in the heart three to four times.
Around 15 hours later, Fatiha called 911 and told officers that she stabbed her sister and “does not believe she was alive”.
The Orange County fire rescue arrived at the scene and Sayma was declared dead about 20 minutes after they arrived.
According to the police affidavit, Fatiha told officers following her arrest on September 26 that her younger sister had been ‘flirting’ with her long distance boyfriend. She felt ‘disrespected’ by the relationship her boyfriend had with her sister.
Investigators said Fatiha witnessed Sayma playing Valorant with boyfriend and perceived chat messages between them as ‘flirtatious’. They has often fight over this.
When she believed that her boyfriend had told her sister that he loved her, Fatiha hatched plans to kill her.
“Fatiha knew she had to wait until her family was asleep to stab Sayma because she did not want anyone to hear the incident. Fatiha consciously decided to kill her sister, Sayma, and the decision was present in her mind at the time of the killing,” the affidavit stated.
Last week, Orange County prosecutors charged Fatiha with first-degree murder. She confessed to stabbing Sayma and is being held in jail without bond.
