In the 90s and early 2000, Jatin-Lalit (Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit) have composed chartbuster songs for movies likeKhiladi, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Khamoshi: The Musical, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Sarfarosh, Ghulam, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Khoobsurat, Mohabbatein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Hum Tum, Chalte Chalte, Fanaa, and others.

However, after 2006, the duo parted their ways and started composing music individually.

A few days ago, Lalit Pandit released his first single titled Jaane Kidhar Le Jayein. We recently interacted with him about the song and a lot more.

While talking about how he got the idea to release a single, Lalit Pandit told us, “I have been thinking of doing independent music for a very long time. I have always been busy with films. But right now the industry is at a halt. I have completed music of two films, but the mixing is still left. But, all the post-production work is at halt. So, my family and sons, they said let’s do a single and let’s venture into independent music. So, I thought why not as everything is under lockdown and I have time in hand, let’s do a song.”

When asked if there are chances that Jatin and Lalit will collaborate again and compose songs, he said, “No, I doubt that because Jatin has shifted to the US, and I am happy doing music independently.  I have done 20 films after we got separated. I have given a song like Munni Badnaam which got all the awards that Jatin-Lalit never got unfortunately. But, I am proud of the work that we have done together. The section of music I have done with Jatin is in the cult section of music. It’s wonderful that new generations are hearing the music.”
