PM at economic meet
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh arrives to attend the International Academic Conference 2012 themed "Economic Growth and Changes of Corporate Environment in Asia" in New Delhi on September 22. Dr Singh launched a spirited defence of measures meant to breathe life into India's stuttering economy after his biggest coalition ally quit in protest on Friday (September 21), reducing his government to a minority.

PM faces protest at important meet
A protester shouts slogans after taking off his shirt in a protest against Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and against the recent hike in diesel prices, in New Delhi on September 22. The protester was identified as Santosh Kumar Suman, a lawyer who shouted slogans when Dr Singh got up to deliver his speech at the inauguration ceremony of International Academic Conference, local media reported.
