BRITAIN'S biggest celebration of Asian business success is moving dates. The annual Eastern Eye Asian Business Awards will now be held on 26th March 2010 and not 20th November this year as first scheduled.
An integral part of the celebration is the publication of the Asian Rich List. This definitive guide detailing the wealth of the country's 101 Richest Asians was to be released on the evening at the gala dinner.
However, the recession has forced many firms to delay compiling their annual accounts to Companies House. Estimates of wealth have been harder to compute in light of these practices. As the authoritative, reliable and accurate guide to personal Asian wealth, it was felt the publication would be better served by being published next year after companies have fulfilled their legal requirements to file their latest 2009 accounts by 31st January 2010.
A more accurate picture of the impact of the recession will then be available to Eastern Eye’s wealth assessment team. Shailesh Solanki, Executive Editor of Eastern Eye, said: “We are all still living with the challenges the recession has thrown up and many businesses remain focused on those, and have delayed filing their accounts, making the task of wealth assessment that much harder than it might have been.
